2017 Year in Review: With great achievement and optimism for the future.

PHOTOMOD

In 2017 we focused on solving a large number of technical tasks. Last year started with the release of PHOTOMOD 6.2 and ended with version 6.3, providing new level of capabilities for creating ortophotomaps, different types of 3D modeling and UAV data processing.

In addition to technical improvements, new opportunities for using software products have appeared. PHOTOMOD became available as SaaS (software as a service) on cloud platform CloudEo and will soon appear on GeoCloud platform on very favorable terms.

Last year the number of PHOTOMOD users increased to 40 companies, divided approximately equally between Russia and foreign counties. Dealer agreement with DIT Space Srl. from Costa Rica was signed.

Racurs’ scientific and technical library was replenished with useful materials, prepared by PHOTOMOD users and specialists of our company.

Exhibitions and conferences

Racurs participated in the largest exhibitions and congresses: Geospatial World Forum (India), INTERGEO (Germany), GEO-Siberia 2017 (Russia, Novosibirsk), “Geodesy, Mine Survey and Aerial Topography. At the turn of the centuries” (Russia, Moscow), “Integrated Geospatial Solutions — the Future of Information Technologies” (Russia, Moscow).

Many years of experience have significantly changed our attitude to spatial information. This has led us to understand the necessity of development and to bring our annual conference “From imagery to map: digital photogrammetric technologies,” to a new level. With a new name — “FROM IMAGERY TO DIGITAL REALITY: ERS & Photogrammetry” conference took place in Israel, joined together 70 specialists, represented 40 companies from 7 countries.

Certification

The consistently high quality of Racurs’ developments was confirmed by successful certification of conformity to quality management system of Governmental military standard PB 0015-002-2012, System of military equipment development and launching into manufacture. In practice it is confirmed by implementation of number of scientific-research and development activities, as well as large development projects, carried out for Russian and foreign customers.

International cooperation

As a part of carrying out the work under international project “Creation of the National geographic information system of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, Racurs has delivered PHOTOMOD, put it into the service and held training courses dedicated to PHOTOMOD photogrammetric technologies. In total, licenses for 60 photogrammetric work places at 5 enterprises of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Land Resources, Geodesy, Cartography and State Cadastre were delivered.

Another one important project in the international cooperation was choice of our company as co-executor of Russian-Chinese program of collaboration in space for 2018-2022, signed by Roscosmos and Chinese National Space Administration.

Remote Sensing Data

Group of Remote Sensing Data worked very actively, supplied in total more than 20 000 sq. km of archive and new survey of very high resolution sensors: WorldView-1,2,3,4, GeoEye-1, Pleiades, Kompsat-2,3,3A. For the first time the company supplied Russian data from satellite Resurs-P. Beside of imageries, customers received DTMs and DSMs.

In the frame of carrying out scientific and research works imageries of KOMPSAT-3A, and Aist-2D satellites, and radar data (KOMPSAT-5, Sentinel-1) were tested to support new sensors and processing levels.

Plans for 2018

Having created great achievement, we are optimistic about 2018 that is significant to our company — quarter of a century at the geoinformation market. We will be glad to see our users, partners and friends in Novosibirsk, where the Congress GEO-Siberia will take place in April, at INTERGEO in Germany and also we invite everyone to participate in the 18th International scientific and technical conference “FROM IMAGERY TO DIGITAL REALITY: ERS & Photogrammetry” which will be held in Crete (Greece) in September this year.
